What if......Just what if

Years goes by but minutes crawl,
Time to open the last door;
Right there beside you thru it all,
Just a friend and nothing more,
All this time you never knew,
What you look for is right beside you;
As this pain and hurt grew and grew,
The patience I had is almost done too.
I wonder if you ever felt like me,
Waiting for things that could only be;
To never see what you wanna see,
To never fly and just be free.
But now you've given me hope once more,
Maybe one day you'll understand;
That we'll be like we never before,
And that I'll be your only man.
What if all these were to be true,
To say what's there in my heart;
And didn't hide it all from you,
Maybe nothing would break us apart.
